SUMMARY: Colchester Karate Academy had the most successful year since it’s opening as a part time club in July 2005, and going full time in October 2007, with huge success at a variety of tournaments, international and local radio and television appearances and press releases and to finish off on a high note, chief instructor Landé Fourie becoming Essex Sport Personality of the Year 2009 and the club winning a number of other awards including Martial Arts Club of the Year, Most loved Martial Arts Club in the UK; Most loved Business in Colchester and 26th in the country for most loved business.

Chief Instructor, Landé Fourie, was crowned Essex Sport Personality of the Year 2009 at a prestigious sports award event aired live in BBC Essex on 11 November 2009.
